What is mobile technology?
Mobile technology is the technology that the user goes to. It includes portable two-way communication devices, computing devices and networking technology that connects them.
Currently, mobile technology is typed by Internet-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets and watches. These are the latest developments, including two-way pagers, notebook computers, mobile phones (flip phones), GPS navigation devices and more.
The communication networks that connect these devices are loosened by wireless technologies. They enable mobile devices to share voice, data and applications (mobile apps).
Mobile technology is widespread and growing. The number of smartphone users has exceeded 3 billion and the global mobile workforce will reach 1.87 billion by 2022.

Types of mobile networks
Cellular networks
cellular-tower

Radio networks use distributed cell towers that enable mobile devices (cell phones) to automatically change frequencies and communicate over large geographical areas without interference. This basic switching capability enables cellular networks to accommodate a limited number of users in a limited number of radio frequencies.
Wi-Fi

| wi-fi |
Radio waves are connected to the Internet through a local router made of devices. Short for wireless redemption, Wi-Fi networks are like cell towers for Internet access, but they do not automatically transfer service without establishing a Wi-Fi connection. Most mobile devices allow automatic switching between Wi-Fi and cellular networks depending on availability and user preference.
4G networking

| 4G |
Current cellular service standards for most wireless communications. It uses packet-switching technology, which organizes data into parts or packets for transmission and retrieves information at the destination. 4G - for the "G" generation - it's 10x faster than 3G - and 5G, still faster, is coming. Uses a combination of total frequency bands to unlock 5G bandwidth and is approximately 20x faster than 4G.
